Sébah & Joaillier, Original period photograph - Burnt Column - 19th century. Very beautiful period photograph, albumen print from the late 19th century, with a faded caption in the negative: “182. Burnt Column of Constantinople - Sébah & Joaillier.” It shows an architectural view of the imposing Burnt Column bound with iron, passersby in period clothing, the domes of adjacent Ottoman buildings, and the tracks of a horse-drawn tram in the foreground. Dimensions: 20.9 x 26.3 cm. Condition: The photograph does not lie flat on its own. There is a trace of oxidation on the lower right edge and small smudging marks on the back of the photograph.
