Rare pair of needle-piqued paper portraits of Henri IV and his minister Sully, Restoration period, around 1820. This legitimist iconography from the time of Louis XVIII often associated the exemplary figures of Henri IV and his minister Sully, but here the technique is rare and original, with superb execution; it features fine needle piquing that highlights the silhouettes of the portraits and their striking features. Each is accompanied by a motto. We have disassembled them to present them transparently and in side lighting. Condition: presented framed and under glass.

Dimensions: 19 x 12 cm (visible). As an antique dealer, we provide an invoice to the highest bidder for each of their purchases. Please feel free to contact us. Shipping will occur after receipt of your payment. Dispatch via tracked letter through La Poste.
