Dimensions: 38 x 10 cm - Height: 8 cm. A rare and elegant Japanese rectangular lacquer box, adorned with a stunning maki-e decoration featuring blooming wisteria vines. The domed lid is delicately embellished with gold and metallic powder against a subtly shaded brown background. The graceful wisteria branches, cascading across the surface, symbolize enduring love and refinement in traditional Japanese art.

The floral motifs are executed with exquisite detail and naturalistic flair, characteristic of the refined aesthetics of the Meiji era. The design extends across the sides, framing a small black button clasp, unobtrusive yet functional.

The interior reveals a rich nashiji finish (sprinkled gold powder on black lacquer), highlighting the meticulous attention to detail typically reserved for high-quality pieces. Condition: Overall very good condition; a fine hairline crack is visible inside the lid (not affecting the structure), with minor wear consistent with age.
