Pair Of Frames In Gutta Percha 19th Century Napoleon III Era With Engravings
Magnificent pair of gutta percha frames, mid-19th century, very worked, adorned. The wood was painted in beige on the front of the frames, echoing the hue of the engravings. The back remained raw, made of blackened wood. Inside the frames, 2 prints representing "gender scenes". Old (in the xvith century style). Probably from the early 20th century, enhanced by a pass everywhere bright pink forming a pretty contrast with the engravings and the frame. Very good condition, no shortage. Gutta percha picture frames from around 1850, beautiful carved with delicate motifs of flower garlands. The front of the picture frames has been covered in a light beige hue delicately echoing the colour of the engravings. The back of the frames is untouched, black wood.
The engravings depict genre scenes (in the 18th century style). Dating from early xxth century possible earlier? Very good condition, no damage.
