Ancient cast iron coal reserve in Renaissance style enamel from the 19th century. Adorned with the Salamander of François I, symbol of the sovereign, engraved in stone at the Château de Chambord and at the Château de Fontainebleau. According to legends, the Salamander hibernates in the logs and wakes up when they are set on fire. Made by the LFB Merville Nord house (Franco-Belgian foundries). H25 x 55 x 31cm.
