Crystal and Gilt Bronze Inkwell from the Napoleon III Period - 19th century. Very beautiful inkwell in a cubical shape made of cut crystal, most likely from Baccarat. The rounded shoulder is adorned with a finely carved and openwork gilt bronze mount depicting draped women in an ancient dance for Cupid, the little God of Love, who holds his bow and arrow while standing on a fluted column.

Ancient scenes separated by laurel wreaths with ribbons, between two friezes of laurel leaves. The inkwell closes with a hinged lid decorated with laurel wreaths.

The interior features an original inkwell insert. The base is cut with diamond point decor. From the Napoleon III period, around 1850.
