Chalice in Chiseled Silver and Gilt, 19th Century

  
Beautiful chalice in solid silver. Richly carved base with acanthus leaves, interlacing, corn cobs, thistles and palmettes. Chiseled ring supporting the smooth belly cup in the upper part and chiseled in the lower part. The cup is vermeil (gold on solid silver). On the base, a cross in the shape of a four-leaf clover enamelled in blue (missing enamel). Minerva hallmark and silversmith LC or LG. Good overall condition, scratches from use.
