Very beautiful Cambodian offering box in silver with embossed engraving. This box was used to present "Puja" offerings for Buddhist rites. It has been repurposed from its original meaning; indeed, it was gifted by a Cambodian to his Parisian lawyer in 1904 as a token of gratitude. It has been engraved with a text and dated, marked on the flat part of its base as a remembrance of this event.
A particularly touching object that transitions from a sacred status to a token of human appreciation. In very good original condition, which makes it not only a ritual piece of fine craftsmanship but also an unusual display object due to its unique history.
