Elegant antique mahogany side table resting on a slender, slightly curved tripod base. This type of occasional table, highly prized in bourgeois interiors in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, was often used as a salon table, tea table, or decorative side table. The circular top features a beautiful natural wood grain and rests on a central brass mechanism that allows the top to tilt upright, an ingenious system widely used on side tables of this period to make storage and moving easier.

The base consists of three elegantly curved legs, connected by a small triangular lower shelf, adding stability and refinement to the piece. The whole table has a lovely aged patina that reflects its authenticity and history. This side table fits just as well in a classic interior as in a more contemporary setting, where it can be used as an occasional table, lamp stand, display stand, or small salon table. Period: late 18th / early 19th century (Directoire - Consulate).

Top: circular tilting top with brass mechanism. Base: tripod with lower shelf.

Condition: good overall condition, beautiful original patina acquired over time. An elegant and authentic piece, ideal for adding charm and character to an interior.
