SMALL SECRETARY known as a “BILLET-DOUX” Rosewood veneer and maple marquetry, Charles X period – around 1825/1830. It opens with a drop-front revealing a lemonwood letter rack as well as two inkwells (one missing). The drop-front is covered in leather.

A secret compartment in the upper section. It stands on four sinuous legs ending in casters and joined by a baluster stretcher, broken in two.
