PAIR OF JAPANESE ORIENTALIST WALL LIGHTS. Pair of wall lights from the second half of the 19th century. The taste for the Far East began around 1860. Europe discovered Japanese culture during the Universal Exhibition of 1867. The Japanism trend reached its peak with the Universal Exhibition of 1878.

This pair of wall lights is a testimony to that era. The central part is decorated with the face of an old Japanese man, who is bearded. The light arms are decorated with acanthus leaves and scrolls. Original gilding, good condition (note: some stains on the light arms and cups, see photos).

Electricity installed and tested, new wires (for E14 bulb). Wooden candle sleeves, good condition. Free delivery in France, through Mondial Relay.
