Beautiful pair of Empire-period armchairs in mahogany, richly decorated with gilded bronze ornaments featuring palmettes, rosettes, and imperial motifs. The straight back is highlighted by an elegant nailhead trim, while the armrests rest on turned supports ending in stylized capitals.

The red upholstered fabric, decorated with laurel wreaths and “N” monograms, reinforces the Napoleonic character of the set. The sober, powerful lines, combined with the quality of the mahogany, are characteristic of the Empire style of the early 19th century.
