Old wooden and gilded stucco frame with a rich decoration of acanthus and laurel leaves, 19th century, Barbizon, frame size 40 x 33 cm. Classic framing work dating from the 19th century. This piece historically held a canvas by painter Léon Richet, a figure of the Barbizon School. Rear assembly firmly reinforced with battens and diagonal braces nailed at the corners. The front is distinguished by substantial molded and gilded stucco ornamentation in strong relief. Numerous damages, chips, cracks, and losses of material are scattered around the entire perimeter, the corners, and the inner palmette frieze. Shrinkage cracks at the miter joints. Dusty gilding showing wear and losses, revealing the underlying white primer.

Rear wooden structure sound and rigid. Overall dimensions: 70 x 63 cm. Visible dimensions: 38.5 x 31 cm. Rabbet dimensions (for fitting the frame): 40.5 x 33.5 cm.
