JAPAN - MEIJI Period (1868 - 1912). A beautiful pair of polylobed turtle shell plates, both decorated with lacquer. One is adorned with a bird, butterflies, and flying insects among flowering branches, while the other features a phoenix on a perch surrounded by insects.

Brings elegance and refinement with its delicate and complex patterns. MEIJI Period (1868 - 1912). Condition: one plate has a small crack on the edge and the other has a significant central crack and wear (see photos).
