Golden Wooden and Silk Louis XV Style Room Divider, 19th Century

  

Beautiful Louis XV style carved and gilded wooden screen. The appeal of this screen is that it is very tall, 2 meters, and can easily fit into a beautiful interior. It opens with 3 glass panels at the top and removable wooden panels lined with floral silk on one side and plain on the other. Beautiful flower sculpture on the panel's pediment.

This screen is presented in its original condition, with some gilding missing, regluing on the pediments, and faded plain fabric on the reverse, showing traces of the frames that had been hung on the reverse, as well as a chip on the side of one of the glasses (see photo). It is a highly decorative screen that stands out due to its height. Napoleon III era, circa 1860.
