Important Empire-period circular guéridon, made of solid mahogany and mahogany veneer, topped with a blue turquin marble slab. The circular top, with a slight raised edge around the perimeter, features a beautiful bluish-gray veining with lighter tones running through it.

It rests on a wide apron veneered in mahogany, whose natural grain elegantly animates the surface. The base, particularly decorative, is composed of three fully carved solid mahogany swans. Their outstretched wings are carefully crafted, with each row of feathers finely detailed.

The long arched necks and delicately modeled heads testify to high-quality carving. These three swans are arranged around a powerful central pyramidal support veneered in flamed mahogany. The whole stands on a tripod base with curved sides, ending in feet carved in the form of lion paws.

The swan, an emblematic motif of Neoclassical ornamental vocabulary, was especially appreciated during the Consulate and the Empire. It appears frequently in prestigious furniture from the early 19th century, associated with ideas of elegance, power, and majesty.

This guéridon stands out for the quality of its mahogany, the grandeur of its carved base, and the balance of its composition. The warm, deep tone of the wood contrasts harmoniously with the cool shades of the blue turquin marble. In good condition overall, with a few scratches and stains on the marble. Delivery in a wooden crate on a pallet by carrier to the ground floor in front of your home (bulky packaging), 280 euros in France, 1000 euros in the EU, and 2000 euros for the rest of the world.
