Empire Inkstand in Wood and Gilded Bronze, Napoleon III - 19th Century. Very fine Empire-period inkstand in a cubic form with a flared base, made of exotic wood. Decorated with finely chased gilded bronze with ribbon motifs and bows, the chased and gilded lid adorned with a rosette of acanthus leaves and small flowers on a finely textured background, highlighted by interlaced friezes and rows of pearls. The base rests on four small bun feet. Napoleon III period, Second Empire, 19th century.
