Covered in burgundy leather on the outside. Two spring-mounted sealing flaps that open by pressing on small metal tabs. Two original glass reservoirs, one of which has a chip, photo 9, designed to hold two different ink colors. The period ink pads still bear authentic traces of ink. Both caps are engraved with the anchor and dolphin symbol and motto. Surmounted by the double-headed eagle, with the official imperial patent marking. Overall in good condition and working order. The exterior leather has a scratch on the lid and a rub mark underneath, photos. The push-button closure works perfectly, and the inner metal plating has retained its original shine.
