
Large Bronze Ewer in Renaissance Style - Second Empire Era 19th Century. Superb bronze ewer with two patinas and rich ornamentation in the Renaissance style. The ewer features high-relief portraits in medallions set against a backdrop of scrolls and acanthus leaves. The neck is adorned with a mask.
Floral and leafy garlands, along with a frieze of oves on the shoulder. The handle is decorated with classical women, cut leathers, and a lion's head crowned with palmettes that end in an acanthus leaf. The entire piece rests on a quatrefoil base decorated with fleur-de-lis and palmettes. This ewer is in excellent condition; it is flawless.
