BALLET BOOK and TORTOISESHELL WALLET 14K Gold. Napoleon III Era - 19th Century.

Very lovely ballet book with its tortoiseshell wallet finely inlaid with 14-karat solid gold. The ballet book opens to reveal a pleated pocket in moiré violet silk and a notebook with blank pages, edges gilded with fine gold, equipped with a small hidden pencil that closes everything. The wallet opens on four leather pleats, one of which is secret with an interior clasp. The two pieces are presented in their original case, lined with red silk and velvet. The gold has been tested with a touchstone.

Beautiful pieces from the Napoleon III era around 1860. This set is in overall good condition and of high quality.
