Authentic Louis XVI period queen’s armchair, 18th century
Elegant Louis XVI period fauteuil à la Reine, late 18th century, featuring a fine carved wooden frame resting on tapered, fluted legs, characteristic of this period. The straight back and curved armrests give this chair a classical and balanced silhouette, typical of furniture produced in the late Ancien Régime. This armchair has retained all the authenticity of its original structure. It is presented in its original condition, with its patina and natural traces of age, bearing witness to its history. It shows old repairs and reinforcements made over the decades, without modern restoration or major alteration, which makes it a piece that has remained true to its original character.
The upholstery, restored long ago, is covered in a floral fabric in the style of Aubusson tapestries, with a rich and decorative central composition, in perfect harmony with the chair’s aesthetic. Period: late 18th century - Louis XVI. Model: fauteuil à la Reine. Frame: carved wood (probably beech).
Condition: original condition, with old repairs. Fabric: floral design, Aubusson style.
