Auguste Monvoisin Officer Portrait Charles X Era Oil / Canvas Xixth Century

  

Ghent portrait of officer under restoration, presumably under Charles x. French school of the nineteenth century. The painting has been reworked and perhaps slightly shortened.

A vignette on the back indicates that the painting represents a general or a lieutenant general by movoisin. This is likely a transcription error. The treatment of this portrait is quite particular to find a similarity with the self-portrait of monvoisin. Frame dimensions: 98 x 83 cm.
