Antique 800 silver ring with garnets and turquoises, Belle Époque, late 19th century
French ring from the late 19th century in solid 800 silver, decorated with an openwork design set with rose-cut garnets and natural turquoise. Its richly worked oval top features a composition typical of regional Belle Époque jewelry, combining the deep brilliance of ruby-red garnets with the bright contrast of turquoise, and a band decorated with vegetal motifs. This antique ring bears the crab hallmark for 800 silver as well as a French goldsmith’s mark. The style also reflects certain Austro-Hungarian and Mediterranean influences from the late 19th century.
