Amphora Austria, very large ceramic vase with cockatoos, late 19th century

  

Magnificent very large ceramic vase featuring a vase bordered with wisteria and a large cockatoo at the top. This model was most certainly designed by Eduard STELLMACHER (1868 - 1945) for the Amphora factory in Austria. The size of this vase is impressive. There are a few chips at the base and in the crest of the parrot. The left wing of the parrot was previously restored (addition of painted plaster).

This does not detract from its appearance. A quote has been obtained from my ceramic restorer, estimating 400 euros for restoration and a 3-month timeframe.

This vase is quite rare; the last time a specimen was sold in 2022, it fetched 4000 euros excluding sales fees. Therefore, the price is fair. Delivery in a wooden crate on a pallet by carrier: 100 euros in France, 200 euros in the EU, and 500 euros for the rest of the world. Width: 35 cm Diameter: 25 cm Height: 62 cm.
