Superb Parisian missal from 1856 by the famous house of Laplace & Sanchez. Engravings by Rouargue - Binding in the style of Seuil. Sold with its period box in good condition.

Published by Laplace Sanchez, booksellers and publishers. (according to the date of approval from the Archbishop of Paris). Superb binding in the style of Seuil in dark Bordeaux red morocco. 4 copper engravings by the engraver Rouargue, who was a student of David d'Angers.

Double frontispiece including one chromolithograph. All edges are gilded in a beautiful color. Sold with its period black box in overall good condition. Regarding the condition of the missal.

Full Bordeaux red morocco binding in impeccable condition. Boards in the style of Seuil with double fillet and golden frieze. Beautiful spine with false bands, title piece in gold, compartments with golden fillets.

Corners, edges, and caps in perfect condition. Endpapers in impeccable crimson fabric with golden roulette. The interior is in very good condition, clean, noting only very slight browning on 9 pages (out of 600 total), including the last 3 pages of the table of contents. Small in-16 format (13.9 cm X 10.3 cm). Regarding the condition of the box.

Wooden box covered with cardboard imitating black morocco in good condition, with slight signs of use. Corners and edges in good condition.

The press button is missing (which will need to be reviewed), however, the box closes normally. The interior is covered with cream-colored fabric with slight browning. Dimensions 15.4 cm X 11.9 cm X 4.7 cm.
