Adolphe, an anecdote found in the papers of a stranger. Third edition, Paris, Brissot-Thivars, Bookseller, 1824.
Printer: Imprimerie de Lachevardière Fils. Period binding in half calf with corners.
Binding: shows signs of use, rubbing to the headcaps and corners, but the whole remains solid and very elegant on the shelf. Size: 11 x 18 cm.
Interior: scattered foxing (natural paper oxidation) and a few brown stains (old dried damp marks) that do not affect readability. A small through wormhole is visible on a few of the final pages, with traces of folding at the corners of several pages. A copy of Benjamin Constant’s masterpiece, published only 8 years after the original edition (1816), in a binding typical of the Restoration period.
